Where It Started

Before we made clothes, we repaired thousands of them.

Founder Calley Dawson spent more than 20 years designing new clothing before opening FXRY, a repair and alterations studio in Seattle. Working on thousands of garments taught her which pieces were worth saving, which fabrics lasted, and how truly great clothing is built.

It also changed the way she thought about fashion. Some of the best garments to come through the studio weren't worn out. They had simply fallen out of rotation because the fit felt dated, they had been damaged, or they needed another chapter.

Second Mark grew from that realization.

Every piece begins with something already worth keeping. We recognize its potential, then leave our own mark.

How a Piece Is Made

Every garment starts with a careful search. We choose vintage and secondhand pieces for the quality of their construction, fabric, and character. Not because they're old, but because they were made well.

From there, Natalie reworks each piece by hand. Silhouettes are reshaped. Details are added. Chainstitch embroidery is stitched on a machine that's nearly 100 years old, creating textures and character that modern machines simply can't reproduce.

No two garments arrive the same way, so no two leave the same way. Every decision is guided by the piece itself. Once it's finished, there will never be another exactly like it.

What We're Making

We don't believe the best clothes are the newest ones.

We believe they're the ones made well enough to deserve another life.

Second Mark finds those pieces, reimagines them with thoughtful craftsmanship, and leaves behind something that couldn't have existed before.
